Rockin’ Celebration

Ever thought of throwing a rock party? No, we don’t mean rock and roll with the loud music. We’re talking about those rocks that we pass by our gardens and streets everyday. Sure, it may not sound like an exciting theme, but trust us! These pictures by Jamie Lihan of Imagine Nation will make you think otherwise! Piero’s party, with the clean colors and fun details, is just absolutely rockin’, and you wouldn’t want to miss it! So don’t waste another minute and scroll through this rocktastic celebration!

What we’re digging:

  • The unique rock cake from Kat Gorospe of Perfect Cakes from Kathy’s Kitchen! How often do you see an eye-catching cake like that?
  • The realistic rock pillows! They may look like real rocks but they definitely seem to be soft and comfy!
  • The vibrant green grass among the rocks in the centerpiece! Definitely added a burst of color to the table!
  • How the desserts were rock-themed too! Would you like some rocky mallows or some rock shots?

Cath Kidston Charm

We gotta be honest, we are quite big fans of Maggie J Hart‘s works–not only does she do styling, she does the photo coverage of the party as well! Kielle’s charming Cath Kidston-inspired party is an example of her styling and shooting talents. With pinwheels, floral patterns, and all things dainty, today’s post will surely get you into the most delightful mood you can ever imagine! So start your Monday morning right and check out the most adorable thing you’ll see today!

What we’re digging:

  • The stage backdrop! We love those colorful pinwheels in contrast with the blue polka dot background!
  • Amphies’ Purple Confectionaire’s birthday cake! We almost don’t want to see it sliced because it is too darn cute!
  • Those blue and pink favor boxes! Did I mention Kielle’s mom did all that? Oh, and she did all the planning too! Way to go, mommy!
  • We also love the floral “K” plushies displayed per table! And while we’re at it, those floral table runners were amazing too!

Pirates’ Property

Ahoy there, me hearties! Two little pirates have taken over a ship, with the help of Luxe Parties, for a very special day and yo ho ho, shiver me timbers! Adam and Angelo celebrated in style along with their crew and maidens, and Little J Photography took captive photo treasures of the whole thing. No need for a treasure map to find this secret location–all you need is an eye patch and a pet parrot, and you’re good to go! Arrrrrrr you ready, privateers? Hurry and get on deck!

What we’re digging:

  • Those huge centerpieces! Entering the venue felt like a sea of ships with their sails up high all because of those creative centerpieces!
  • We also spotted some golden chocolate coins scattered on every table. Not only does it go with the pirate theme but it also gives the guests something to munch on!
  • The cake and dessert set up! We are loving those wooden barrels and vintage fish nets!
  • Totally eyeing those scrumptious-looking birthday cakes! Oh, we love those cute cupcakes too!

Mom-me Time 2014

A few months ago, Baby and Breakfast came up with the idea of an event for mommies. But being a newbie mommy myself (three years and I still feel clueless!), we decided to collaborate with Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio of Wanders&Wonders and Spaces by Babyland to see what we can come up with. Rica suggested focusing on something basic that moms often forget… themselves! What a simple, yet brilliant topic, right? And with all the daily party ideas and inspirations that we get to feature on the blog, we knew that the party we were about to throw needed that Baby and Breakfast flair. So I told Rica to work on her talk, while we worked on getting the affair on track! And Spaces by Babyland was the perfect venue for us to hold our first Baby and Breakfast event!

The first was the concept. We thought of coming up with a theme that was beautiful, fun, and laid back. We loved the idea of a whimsical forest with ferns and bright florals, as well as wild animals. We reached out to the team we felt would best make our vision into reality. First, everything starts with a good invitation design. Marla Darwin of Natural Selection Design Co. is one of the easiest invitation designers you could ever meet. By easy, I mean, she totally gets our aesthetic! So there were almost zero revisions after we received the first draft. Second was our event stylist–yes, many of you know Gideon Hermosa of The Events Studio. All I can say is, “bravo!”. He transformed Spaces by Babyland into a wonderland! We told Gideon, we wanted sprawling ferns… and we got it. We told him we wanted bright florals… and he made it happen. We told him we wanted wild animals… and he prettified them! As a result, we heard gasps of excitement and awe as moms came in the room–mission accomplished!

We also made sure we got a really good photographer to cover the event. We knew Happy Folks Studio was the right fit for the job. They made sure that everything was captured in all its charm and beauty.

Thirdly (but of equal importance), we wanted great food. For this we had no room for compromise, so we knew K. by Cunanan was the one fit for the job. We like them because they not only make superb tasting food, they also make it look gorgeous (see the photos below, and you’ll know what I am talking about)! Reminiscing about those prawns and the smores bar (YES, WE HAD A SMORES BAR BTW) is making me terribly hungry again. And for the cherry on top of the sundae, we had the most stunning cake and cakelets by The Delightful Miss Joyce… seriously! No wonder I don’t lose weight. We also had printed cookies by Lovelots Cakes, which was a surprise to everyone–they couldn’t believe that the invitation design was printed on them, and that the cookies were edible!

Everything was a flora and fauna dreamland. When throwing a party, we believe in making sure that it becomes an experience that the guests won’t easily forget about. One of my favorites was the sprawling ferns that were on the wall up to the ceiling–it makes you feel like you discovered a secret garden.

The guests settled down and we began the event by giving out some awesome stuff for our guests to take home. We wanted to do it all throughout the event and make the moms feel very special. Check out our list below of the super duper partners who made the take home loot and raffle prizes a “WOW” experience for all the attendees.

We then moved on to our special flower crown-making activity! Gideon prepared a flower buffet for the mommies to test their inner florist. This was a definite hit! We were surprised that a lot of the moms were so competitive (you know who you are)!

Then we chose six moms as the queens of the flower crown-making activity. But honestly, it was pretty hard to choose, because everyone really did a spectacular job!

There were more giveaways and raffle prizes in between activities.

Of course, with such a jam-packed program, everyone gets hungry. And yes, we saw the plates… they were pretty full!

Here is Rica giving the first short talk about finding the ME in mommy. She talked about how each one is unique, has her own passions, and how as a mom, we tend to forget that God also made us to hone our talents and pursue our interests. When the moms were asked to share about what they’ve been dreaming of doing if given a chance, it was non-stop chatter. Everyone was excited to share!

Leona Lavina-Panutat of L’Indochine having a fun time sharing about her passions.

Now one of our highlights for this day was having our guest speaker, wondermama Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, share how she was able to enjoy being a mom and still do things that fuel her despite having five (yes, you heard me right, FIVE) kids. During her talk, every single person in the room was glued to her voice–we all wanted to know how to do it. And at the end of the talk… well, we realized it’s possible! Hooray for that!

Here I am again (I was the designated host, by the way) giving away more great products for our guests. Each and every item we got to give away were really products we believed in! We wanted the moms to take home things they would really be able to use. And as the afternoon rolled on, we had the most wonderful time just bonding and talking to fellow moms, and of course taking lots of photos so we can remember this day of newfound friends and a few hours of ME time!
