If you’re like me who loves to spend time at home, away from the stress of Metro Manila traffic, hour-long wait for a parking slot, and food orders with an even longer wait period, here’s a round up of timeless restaurants that provide take-out options to ensure a relaxing Father’s day celebration at home.

Whenever I see Filipino restaurants being celebrated through word of mouth or via social media, I give a loud cheer. There’s a sense of homecoming with the familiar, and with Manam upping its game with their Super Benta Boxes that’s good for around 6-8 people, they are one of our favorite restaurants to order from.
As a rice loving country, they offer Bagoong and Tinapa rice, for less than ₱500 per Super Benta box as well. For healthy options, you may also choose to order their Fresh Lumpiang Ubod for ₱555.
Family favorites such as House Crispy Sisig are available at ₱1,005, as well as as their Kare-Kare with Ox-Tail for ₱1,555.

One of our favorite family restaurants to visit is Summer Palace, located at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. For a family of three to five members, their small to medium portions are already generous. You may choose to order their large portions if you’re more than five. For our family, their dimsum menu can already be part of the main course.
To complement these dishes, your family may also try their Steamed Minced Pork with Two Kinds of Eggs (₱1,380 for a large sized order). No meal is complete without their Yang Zhou Fried rice (₱1,300 for a large sized order). You may also try their Fried soft shell crab with salted egg at ₱830!
