Vera’s First Birthday Party Was Elegant and Dainty With a Fun Korean Doljabi Tradition!

Baby Vera’s first birthday party was an elegant and feminine celebration! With a palette of soft pink, gold, and white, Vera’s parents came up with a vision of a classic floral theme that was simple and dainty. It was a blended party with onsite and virtual guests that incorporated activities everyone could participate in. Think trivia quizzes, polls, online puzzles, and so much more! But the highlight of the entire party was the Doljabi, a Korean tradition where the baby chooses her future occupation by selecting one of the corresponding objects laid in front her. However, this party put a modern twist on this tradition: instead of objects, Vera’s parents used these beautiful cakes with different toppers. An online poll was even held where guests got to guess which one Vera would choose! Having spent her first year in lockdown, Vera’s parents succeeded in giving her such a stunning and meaningful celebration, one that was equally as special as a non-pandemic birthday would have been. So, are you wondering what baby Vera is going to be when she grows up? Look through these lovely photos by Joel Aragones Photography and see!
