When you think of baby food, what are the first words that come to mind? A few common descriptions could be “mushy,” “messy,” and definitely “just for babies,” but who would have thought that “gourmet” could be a part of that list? Solenn Bolzico shows us how it’s done through her Instagram posts collectively known as #TiliEats. Her daughter Thylane, whom they fondly call “Tili”, no doubt loves every recipe her mommy makes for her! So, for moms who are transitioning their toddlers to solid food, we rounded up seven healthy and oh-so-yummy recipes you can try based on Solenn’s posts.
Steps to Prepare:
1. Spread natural cream cheese on soft bread.
2. Flatten the bread.
3. Dip the bread in egg and milk mixture.
4. Cook in pan with unsalted butter.
5. Serve with Gerber (fruit variant) as dipping sauce.
Steps to Prepare:
Salmon Croqueta
1. Boil and mash the potato.
2. Shred and cook the salmon.
3. Mix 1 and 2 with butter, a bit of natural mayo, scallions, and lemon juice.
7. Roll into balls and dust with flour.
8. Dip balls in egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
9. Cook in canola oil.
Broccoli Puree
1. Steam the broccoli.
2. Puree with a teaspoon of cream cheese.
Steps to Prepare:
1. Mash one banana.
2. Mix the banana with one egg, 1/4 cup flour (or blended oats), and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
3. Add cinnamon to taste.
4. Cook in pan in baby pancake sizes.
Steps to Prepare:
1. Cook onions, garlic, carrots, portobello mushrooms, ground meat, cumin, tomato, and parsley in olive oil.
2. Puree potato and cauliflower with parmesan cheese.
3. Place the cooked meat and vegetables on top of the vegetable puree.
Steps to Prepare:
1. Dip slices of bread in egg, milk, and cinnamon mixture.
2. Cook in pan with unsalted butter.
3. Serve with orange zest and dash of cinnamon.
4. Add side of grilled bananas and Gerber exotic fruit as dipping sauce.
Steps to Prepare:
Risotto
1. Sauté onions and portobello mushrooms.
2. Stir in uncooked rice.
3. Add homemade chicken broth (no salt), stir on low heat, and keep adding water and alternate with broth util almost cooked.
4. Add milk to finish cooking the rice.
5. Top with a bit of parmesan cheese.
Pesto Chicken
1. Boil a whole chicken for three hours with carrots, onions, leeks, and water (to make chicken broth). Keep the broth to use in other dishes.
2. Shred some chicken and sauté with onions. Plate next to risotto.
3. Top with homemade pesto (no salt and no nuts—only basil, olive oil, garlic, and parmesan cheese).
Steps to Prepare:
1. Sauté carrots, celery, onions, and spinach leaves.
2. Mix in homemade Pomodoro sauce (stew olive oil, shallots, garlic, carrots, thyme, oregano, and tomatoes).
3. Top with milk and parmesan cheese.
4. Serve with a bit of cream cheese on top.
