One of the advantages of celebrating in a restaurant is not having to worry about the food. They have their own menu, and the logistics are taken care of. Another plus is that more and more restaurants are being more particular about their aesthetic which is a big help when it comes to thinking about the styling and decor for your party. So here’s a list of restaurants and cafes you might want to try for your next celebration.
P.S. – With a lot of branches across the metro, you can be sure to have a lot of options with this list!
1. Romulo Café
Virginia, also known as Lola Virginia, the wife of Carlos P. Romulo, loved serving creative dishes to her husband’s fellow dignitaries. At that time, not all the ingredients were readily available and widely shared among cultures. Lola Virginia had to be inventive to represent delectable Filipino dishes. Known for their signature dishes like Lola’s Chicken Relleno and Tito Greg’s Kare-Kare, Romulo Café transforms “lutong bahay” dishes into a graceful dining experience. They have options for private functions for as few as eight people and as many as three hundred.
2. Chili’s
With more than ten branches across the metro, Chili’s is also a good choice to celebrate your kid’s party in. They have a kid’s set menu as well as an adult buffet and set menu packages to choose from. Balloons, party banners, invitations, name tags, and a party host are all included in the package. With an additional minimum charge, you can also avail of other party activities such as glitter tattooing, face painting, a photo booth, and a bubble show. Take note though that parties are only held from 3 pm to 6 pm, with additional charges for succeeding hours.
Milky Way Café opened in 2002 to provide a more spacious dining and meeting place yet still maintaining the highlights of Milky Way, a dairy bar that operated way back in the 1950s. They have well-appointed function rooms offering delicious food for guests in any event like seminars, corporate affairs, and even children’s baptismal celebrations or birthday parties. Their banquet facilities can accommodate anywhere from 10-250 persons.
Nestled in Westgate Center Muntinlupa, this restaurant is a perfect party venue option if you want to shy away from hotels. They have four areas you can reserve depending on the number of guests you have–the bookstore for around 20 guests, the black room for around 30 pax, the roof deck for 80, and the main dining area for 120.
5. Bench Café
Bench, the popular local clothing brand now has its own restaurant. While it’s obvious that they offer Filipino food, the Foodee Global Concepts, the group who teamed up with Bench for this café, describes their menu as the “glamorized Turo-turo”. They present their dishes with a unique twist and combination in their well-designed and attractive restaurant interiors. This place accepts reservations for private functions with around 65 people in their Makati branch, and 80 pax for their BGC branch.
6. Gloria Maris
Gloria Maris boasts not only about their quality Chinese cuisine and dimsum, but also about their courteous and experienced staff that can assist you to make your event worry-free. Their function rooms are spacious in all branches, giving more room for the kids to play and run around. Most of their venues have high ceilings with glass windows giving the guests a nice street view.
What started off as a family pastime for a mother and daughter tandem has now developed into a full-fledged bakery and café business. Dining in a homey ambiance with delectable dishes, this café sure has a lot of new and loyal customers. From birthdays, baptisms, reunions, and graduation parties, this venue gives you all the reasons to celebrate with them.
