6 Things Every Working Mom Needs to Hear When the Days Get Tough

You wake up at 3:00 am to pump milk, and then you’re up again at 6:00 am to prepare breakfast and make sure that everything is settled before you leave for work. At the office, you try to balance meetings and reports, while worrying about your kids and if they’re doing all right. And at the end of the day, you honestly feel exhausted. Yes, you love being a mom, but you have to admit, it’s much more difficult now that you have to balance your time for work and family.

To make you feel more inspired today, here are six things that you should hear that will encourage you to stay strong when the going gets tough.

What you're doing is not easy, so you should be proud of what you've accomplished.

The fact that you’re juggling time for your work and kids is indeed an accomplishment! You deserve a pat on the back, because you’re able to successfully go to the office from 9-5, and come home to cook, clean, and care for your kids. And that’s not an easy task, so kudos to you, momma!

It's okay to ask for help--you need it!

If you feel like you’re all alone in this journey, just remember that you’re not. Don’t be afraid to ask help from your spouse and your family. They’ll probably be more than happy to lend you a hand. There are also a lot of other working moms out there who are going through the same situation as you. And it’s okay to ask advice and thoughts from other people, because the whole journey of motherhood becomes easier when you have family and friends who understand you well.

Your schedule may be overwhelming, but you can manage everything one at a time.

Yes, you will feel guilty, especially when you’ve done so much work and you haven’t helped your kids with their homework. However, no mom has a perfect schedule. That’s why it’s okay to take things one at a time. You can’t do everything all at once, but you will get the job done. You will make time for your kids, and that selfless act makes you even more powerful!

You deserve a break.

With so much going on at work and at home, sometimes you forget someone just as important as your husband and kids–yourself. Have some time for yourself. Once you have “alone time”, you are actually reenergizing yourself, so you can face the day with much more strength. (So yes, you deserve that quick trip to the spa!)

You're already the best mom to your kids.

Life as a mom can be pressuring. Sometimes, you even feel like you have to be the best at everything. But frankly, you don’t have to be the #1 baker, crafter, or photographer. You just have to be best mom. And your kids already know that you are.

At the end of the day, it's all about your little ones.

When the going gets tough, just remember: Once you get home, your stress will disappear the moment you see your little ones running towards you. Their kisses and hugs are the ultimate reward after a long day at work. And you know what? That’s the best feeling in the world! So get up, and face the day with more positivity. You can do this momma! You are a great example to your kids, and they definitely appreciate every single thing that you’ve done for them.
