Looking for a cute D.I.Y. favor for your little princes and princesses? Well, look no further! Today, our guest blogger, Create! Paper Crafts is showing us how to make cloth crowns with less than ten steps! Click here to see the full tutorial!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Felt Cloth/Cotton Fabric
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Ribbons
- Ruler
- Glue
- Cardboard (or any board which can be used for your pattern)
- Buttons/Acrylic Stones/Faux Pearls
Step 1: First, draw your crown pattern on a piece of cardboard. You can have your own measurement but you can also use the pattern used for this crown, which you can find below.
Step 2: Cut the cardboard using a pair of scissors.
Step 3: Using the cardboard pattern, outline it onto the cloth, and then cut. Make sure to use a sharp pair to cut through the cloth easily.
Step 4: To make the crown base, stick your cloth cut outs together by using glue. If you are making a lot of crowns, using hot glue is preferable as it can dry faster although the crown base can become a little stiffer and difficult to sew.
Step 5: When the crown base is already dry, you can glue on your ribbon on the most bottom part of your crown base.
Step 6: Wait for the glue to dry. When it’s ready, you can now decorate your crown with various embellishments! Acrylic stones, which can be found at craft stores, were used on this project.
Step 7: Now, sew the ends of your crown base together using simple stitches.
Step 8: Lastly, sew two ribbons on the sides of the crown.
Your cloth crowns are now ready to be worn!
