Let’s Take a Look Back at the First Familist Mommy Meet Up!

The holidays have a way of filling our hands and calendars before we even realize it. Between our kids’ school events, family gatherings, and endless to-do lists, many moms quietly wish for just a short pause.

Last week, in our very first Familist Mommy Meet Up, we found just that kind of pause.

In the cozy, intimate space of Kids Wood Play Cafe in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, moms came together for an unhurried afternoon, sharing good food, warm laughter, and heartfelt conversations. It was the kind of breather we all definitely needed.

Here’s a look back at the moments we shared!

Let's Take a Look Back at the First Familist Mommy Meet Up!

We shared spontaneous stories, heartfelt concerns, and warm laughter.

When moms were asked to choose their own seats, they ended up with seatmates who would make the rest of their afternoon truly meaningful. As we introduced ourselves, conversations easily flowed: from concerns about our kids’ school and who looks after them, to the little things that often occupy our minds, like what language our children should speak at home or what shows they should watch.

We may have started as strangers, but our shared journeys through motherhood quickly brought us together, making the unspoken weight we carry a little bit lighter.

What made it memorable was the sense of community. I really enjoyed meeting other moms and sharing stories—it felt refreshing and encouraging. The activities were fun, but it was the connections that made it really meaningful. Mommy Elijah

We enjoyed overflowing food and comforting cups of coffee!

What’s a great mommy meet-up without good food to match? Our afternoon of talk and laughter was made even more memorable with overflowing pastries—croissants, banana bread, and revel bars—that delighted our taste buds and filled our tummies. Cups of coffee added a comforting touch, like a warm hug on a drizzling afternoon and an affirmation for us moms for a job well done!

As if these were not enough, we were all served with ham and bacon sandwiches for lunch! It was such a generous spread, thanks to Kids Wood Play Cafe!

Masaya talaga yung event para sakin kasi nakilala ko yung ibang mommies and naka meet ng new friends. Ang warm at friendly ng lahat. More than worth it yung travel ko dahil super nag-enjoy ako. Sobrang sarap din ng food and ang neat and relaxing ng place. Sana mas marami pang ganitong events kasi nakakawala ng stress at kahit sandali, nakalimutan ko yung mga problema ko. Mommy Catherine

We were gifted a sparkly piece of jewelry reminding us to choose a little self-care.

Amid the rush of the holiday season and the long list of Christmas gifts to buy, moms often forget to gift themselves. But we didn’t.

Familist founder and The Fold Jewelry owner Janna Simpao graced the occasion, sharing her own motherhood journey and a few words of wisdom that resonated with every mom in the room.

Just in time for the holidays, Janna personally handed out the moms a surprise – a beautiful pair of earrings from The Fold Jewelry to match the season, reminding every mom that they deserve a little sparkle, too!

The event was really fun and memorable because of the warmth and energy of all the mommies. It felt like such a supportive and safe space. I also loved how thoughtful the entire program was. We received so many gorgeous gifts, and the highlight for me was the jewelry given by Ms. Janna. It’s such a meaningful token that will always remind me of the special moments we shared during the meetup. Truly grateful for the experience! Mommy Inah

We went home refreshed and re-energized, ready to take on the busy days ahead.

No mom left the event empty-handed. With hearts already full, every mom also carried home small tokens of the afternoon: a tote bag bearing the reminder, “Because raising a family needs a village,” a Kids Wood Play Cafe sticker sheet for their little ones, Tickled Babies Brush Baby PH toothpaste, and a Real Scents PH calming Green Tea room and linen spray. More than the items themselves, the tote became a simple keepsake of a short but sweet time shared.

Everyone felt refreshed and re-energized, very much ready to take on moms’ busiest days ahead!

The event made me feel so pampered! Loved all the goodies. Food and venue were great too. And as for the vibe, I definitely felt heard and understood as a mom. Interacting with likeminded moms were both inspiring and recharging. Happy to meet and be welcomed in the community! Mommy Lalaine
